York & North Yorkshire Office for Policing, Fire, Crime and Commissioning
The York and North Yorkshire Office for Policing, Fire, Crime and Commissioning (OPFCC) is the link between the public and the Police and Fire services. The OPFCC works to ensure the Police and Fire Services are held accountable, and that the public’s questions and concerns are taken seriously.
The OPFCC also invests millions of pounds a year on key commissioned services for the local community, helping both to prevent crime and support those impacted by it.
The OPFCC ensures community needs are met effectively, setting objectives through the Police and Crime Plan and Fire and Rescue Plan.
Our key responsibilities:
- Public engagement
- Scrutiny of North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service
- Making funding available to support communities to be and feel safe
- Commissioning services for victims to cope and recover after crime and to address the root causes of offending
