North Yorkshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner

The Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner is the link between the public and police and fire – to make sure they do a good job.

The Commissioner ensures community needs are met effectively, setting objectives through their Police and Crime Plan and Fire and Rescue Plan.

The Commissioner is supported by the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (OPFCC) who lead on:

    • Public engagement
    • Scrutiny of police and fire
    • Police and fire complaints
    • Making funding available to support communities to be and feel safe
    • Commissioning services for victims to cope and recover after crime and to address the root causes of offending
