Skills plans and strategies have been launched today at an event in York.
Hosted by York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority, the Adult Skills Fund Update drew around 100 skills stakeholders and providers from around the region.
The event, held at The Grand, included the launch of the Adult Skills Fund Strategic Skills Plan, a revised Combined Authority Skills Strategy and an introduction to upcoming commissioning and procurement processes.
Vicky Wright, Adult Skills Fund implementation manager at York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority, said: “The Combined Authority takes responsibility of the region’s devolved Adult Skills Fund next year and to prepare for that, we’ve been working closely with the skills community across our region. It was great to welcome so many skills providers and stakeholders to our event, to share plans which they have helped shape, and to highlight the steps that lie ahead.”
York and North Yorkshire’s Adult Skills Fund, previously known as the Adult Education Budget, supports the delivery of education and training to people aged 19 and over and is worth around £10.8 million per year.
