Residents and businesses across York and North Yorkshire are invited to discuss policing and community safety issues with their appointed Deputy Mayor for Policing, Fire and Crime, Jo Coles, at her monthly virtual advice surgeries.

The first virtual surgery will take place on Wednesday, 18 September 2024 from 4:30pm until 6pm with all future surgery dates and times provided on the Office for Policing, Fire, Crime and Commissioning (OPFCC) website.

Jo Coles, Deputy Mayor for Policing, Fire and Crime, for York and North Yorkshire said:

“It’s really important that residents from across York and North Yorkshire can raise any issues or questions they have about crime, policing or community safety with me privately. These monthly surgeries will provide that opportunity. Anyone who has an issue they would like to raise should get in touch to book an appointment.”

The surgeries will take place on MS Teams or alternatively appointments can take place via a phone call. They will run on an appointment only basis, with each appointment lasting 15 minutes.

It is important to note that the Deputy Mayor cannot personally intervene or influence a live investigation, whether about a police complaint or a criminal matter. This is because doing so could jeopardise the investigation.
