UK Shared Prosperity Fund
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) is a government programme dedicated to levelling up communities across the UK. The fund, worth £2.6 billion, wants to invest in local areas. It will help economic growth, improve infrastructure, and enhance residents’ lives.
York and North Yorkshire have received funding to address challenges and opportunities in their areas. York received £5.8 million and North Yorkshire received £16.9 million. This funding is an important investment in our region’s future.
Key priorities for the UK Shared Prosperity Fund
The primary goal of the UKSPF is to build pride in place and increase life chances across the UK. As such, the York and North Yorkshire SPF funds will support projects that:
