Deputy Mayor visits Combined Authority-funded community project in York

This month, Deputy Mayor Jo Coles paid a visit to a successful community project in York, funded in part by the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority.

Organised by Eimann Culture and Community Services, and hosted at York Theatre Royal, the event brought together a diverse group of families from across York and North Yorkshire for an Eid card-making session designed to foster closer community relations.

The Deputy Mayor attended alongside members of the Combined Authority’s inclusivity and public confidence team, learning more about the backgrounds and experiences of the people in attendance.

The Combined Authority’s Digital Inclusion Programme helped to support the event, providing funding for laptops used to allow young people to write and send digital cards and providing an introduction to using a laptop for the first time.
