Malton Police and Fire Station Survey, 2026

David Skaith, the Mayor for York and North Yorkshire, is responsible for making decisions about the buildings used by North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

We want to make sure our local emergency services are sustainable for the future and meet the needs of our communities and staff. That means making informed decisions about how we use public money and our buildings.

Currently the two emergency services operate from separate stations in Malton and both buildings are no longer fit for purpose.

We are seeking your views on whether to move forward with specialist survey work to explore the potential to build a new, joint Police and Fire station in Malton. No decisions have been made yet.

Responses to this consultation will be carefully considered alongside all other evidence before making a final decision.

We welcome responses from everyone, whether you live or work in Malton or York and North Yorkshire more widely.

We also want to hear from members of the public, businesses and community organisations, partners and employees of North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and North Yorkshire Police.

No decisions have been made yet. We will carefully consider your responses alongside all other evidence before making a final decision.

To have your say, please complete this survey by 1st July 2026.

It should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.
