The exploration of the partnership is a pilot programme supported by £2 million from the UK Government’s Local Net Zero Accelerator Programme.
Thanks to its unique and extensive natural assets—including marine and geothermal resources—and its commitment to trailblazing net zero nationally, York and North Yorkshire is welcoming major investment in green energy.
Through the Strategic Energy Partnership, we aim to unlock private investment, bringing real benefits to our businesses and communities while helping the UK reach its net zero target.
