Latest Updates
The Business Innovation Fund is already making an impact in York and North Yorkshire, but there’s more to come. Our Spin-Out and Start-Up programme is now on its way after we selected a provider to carry out the research. The first round of the ‘Get Exporting’ fund is closed, but more rounds will follow soon. Meanwhile the ‘Get Funded’ and ‘Great Ideas’ are launching soon. Please find our latest updates below:
First round of ‘Get Exporting’ closes
The first round of the ‘Get Exporting’ programme closed on Monday, June 30. We had more than 60 applications and are now assessing them, with a decision expected by the end of July.
We will open the second round of funding soon, supported by a roadshow of events in October, which will see a team made up of experts from York and North Yorkshire Growth Hub and the Department for Business and Trade heading out across York and North Yorkshire to answer your questions.
Spin-Out, Start-Up and Sector Activity Programmes move forward
Keeping talent and expertise in York and North Yorkshire is key to our future innovation potential and success. The Spin-Out and Spin-Out programme aims to understand the barriers and make it easier for talent from our three universities to make their ideas into a reality. We have commissioned public policy experts SQW to develop an overview of the current landscape, leading to an action plan of recommendations for our universities.
The Sector Activity Programme is also progressing well with around 35 applications for cluster mobilisation and feasibility studies. Our team is reviewing these applications now and will update in due course on which projects we will be funding.
