York and North Yorkshire Work and Skills Interchange

We’re developing an exciting new source of support, as part of our Get Britain Working Inactivity Trailblazer programme.

The York and North Yorkshire Work and Skills Interchange will offer advice and make connections for people seeking work, or trying to stay in work. The focus is on supporting people who have significant health conditions and are economically inactive, but this may include people who face other disadvantages in the labour market – such as caring responsibilities, their age, low skills or long-term worklessness.

Employers play a vital role in creating good work opportunities and reducing current and future economic inactivity.  With the potential of 100% funding, the interchange will support employers to build their capacity to attract, hire, and retain people, and create inclusive job opportunities.

What’s happening next

Support will be available through dedicated staff and online resources. Advisers and place-based navigators will support with the engagement of individuals and businesses. They will navigate the complex work, health and skills landscape, reaching into communities to ensure people have access to tailored support to assist with learning, employment and health and wellbeing.

As we develop this offer further, keep in touch with updates by bookmarking this webpage and signing-up for the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority newsletter here.
